Craigmont is located just off of US Highway 95 in the midst of the beautiful Camas Prairie. It is home to just over 520 people with an additional 240 living outside the city limits in the zip code area. The community’s businesses and industry are deeply routed in agriculture and natural resources.
Craigmont is with in a short drive of many recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, hiking, hunting and even cross country skiiing and ice skating. Craigmont is home to the Highland School District with an elementary and junior/senior high school. The city also has a medical clinic offering obstetrics and family medicine Monday through Friday as a part of St. Mary’s Hospital. You can even fly small planes into Craigmont via the city’s municipal airport.
Major employers include the Idaho Department of Lands, Harlows Bus Service, Highland School District and Primeland Cooperatives.
According to the US Census Bureau’s On the Map, in 2011 there were approximately 170 people working in Craigmont with 161 of those commuting into the area for work. Of the workers living in Craigmont, 234 were traveling outside the zip code area for work.
