Improved air passenger service available February 1st.

Passenger service for Idaho and Lewis Counties travelers is available at the Lewiston - Nez Perce County airport in Lewiston, Idaho (http://www.lcairport.net/).

Delta Airlines has reached an agreement with the City of Lewiston to provide four flights a day on a 50-passenger jet. Two daily round-trip nonstop flights from Lewiston to Salt Lake City, Utah are expected to get a one-year trial starting Feb. 1. The agreement guarantees Delta or a subsidiary will get as much as $3,500 per flight, with the amount reduced depending on the number of seats sold. The money will come from a federal Department of Transportation Small Community Air Service Development Grant received by the city just a year ago.

Salt Lake City, which is only 80 minutes away, is a hub with connections available to the Midwest, East Coast and southern cities.
